Berlin Wittenberg (Train Simulator 2013 Add-On) PC
The add-on "Koeblitzer Mountain Route" is a continued development of the freeware route Altenburg-Wildau by the Dutch developer Siegfried Derks, aka SAD. Geographically it is situated somewhere in the region of Trier, Germany. It has taken the developer two years to build this imaginary route which gives the impression to be a real-life scenery in the middle of Germany. *** This new third version of the route features a couple of improvements and expansions. The newly added ICE high speed track allows a maximum speed of 200 km/h. The new shunting yard Altenburg-North offers additional possibilities for creating sceneries. Rinckenburg shunting yard can now also be used for scenarios. The most important improvement in this new version of the route is the implementation of new modern HV signals.
The latest version features a proper route folder in Train Simulator so users of the previous version can continue using them. *** A lot of work has gone into modeling the vegetation. Weeds and wild bushes can be seen left and right of the tracks. The region thrives by its farmland. From corn to fruit, from grain to sunflower fields, everything that can be found in a landscape with these features is her to be seen. There are meadows with poppies during summer time while autumn is the time for wine and fruit harvesting. *** The add-on plays in the early years of 2000 when maintenance of tracks and rail institutions was not a priority. Stopping points and former stations are overgrown just as the unused tracks which havent been used for a long time. Modern shelter huts can be seen beside old stations witch are no longer in service. Abandoned stopping points have made way for car traffic and switch towers have been modeled with broken windows as dispatch and organization have all been centralized.
Everything that reminds the rail fan of the good old times can be seen in this add-on not only in a melancholic way but also with a wink of the eye. Nature is claiming back its territory. Drive along the electrified main line and step up to its challenges: unfenced crossings, gradient and speed changes will need your complete attention. Enjoy the beautiful scenery while comfortably driving on the branch tracks through the Koeblitzer mountains or feel the stress while trying to keep the regional express on time. *** The many connecting tracks hold the room for new and interesting scenarios. The developer Jan Bleiß has placed the signals at their correct spots and Mathias Gundlach and his team have contributed their corrected signals.
